Agree completely, but I’d add that the defunding of higher ed starting with Reagan contributed massively to the problems. When you’re worried about money as a university, then you bring in the Starbucks, the rec centers, the renovated dorms, the lazy rivers, and the other goodies to attract more “tuition-generators.”
