In 2016, we jumped to conclusions about “economic anxiety” and then later understood that the research and data pointed to racial attitudes. I think we’ll see something similar now, as most of the 2020 results seemed to boil down to, “I don’t pay any attention to politics and have no idea just how horrific the GOP has been, but those BLM riots were scary and I want the ‘conservers’ to keep society (and white supremacy) running smoothly.”
