If we take Job and certain other OT passages as literal, then I agree 100%. But I view Job as a story and attributing a plague to God’s displeasure with David’s census as an ancient people’s attempt to explain a “why” behind a pandemic. I know many, many people have been deeply hurt by the church and by fundamentalist interpretations of the bible, and I apologize for that.
