I've been wondering about this for a long time. I always assumed women were dressing for men, but recently I've wondered if they're dressing for themselves. Society values beauty, so of course a Beyonce wears a tight-fitting and revealing outfit for herself, to show her beauty -- like a man wearing a muscle shirt. Teen and early 20s women today seem empowered to dress how they want, and most of them want to show their midriffs and cleavage -- not to attract men, necessarily, but to be as comfortable on a hot day as a dude in a tank top. I'm curious what you and others think about this. Great article!
