I've gone through a very similar evolution in my beliefs about abortion, for very similar reasons.

… I carried around immense guilt. But as I began to dawn upon these new insights, the weight lifted. In reality, many women seek abortions for reasons we can address, and there might be a better way to “fight” abortion than through criminalization: helping everyday people better meet everyday needs. (Talk about What would Jesus do!)
