Such a thoughtful and faithful analysis! I've also been rethinking hell, and the way you put it captures the problems of eternal conscious torment so well. I think I agree with Thomas Jay Oord, who believes God never stops trying to persuade people to trust and love Him. I imagine something similar to the version of "hell" in The Great Divorce.
