In the case of 1 and 2 Kings, I think one can argue, as I do, that homosexuality itself must not be the clear-cut sin that many believe it to be or else the Israelite kings who expelled the temple prostitutes would not be praised so highly for only expelling them. No, scripture doesn’t explicitly endorse loving same-sex relationships, but 1 and 2 Kings does seem to indicate that opposing same-sex relationships isn’t the defining trait of faithfulness, contrary to many Evangelicals. The story of David and Jonathan, however, may be quite the positive endorsement of a loving same-sex relationship.
