Thanks for engaging in the dialogue, Kent. I think we’re more aligned than it may seem upon a first reading of my article. I’m not sure “Jesus wants a relationship that produces fruit” is different from nurturing a “state of heart” and “obeying His commands,” which are really general principles. I probably should have written, “and in the process experience the love of Jesus Christ and God the Father.”
