Very well-written, but I believe we need more censorship, not less. Dangerous misinformation appears true merely through repetition. Outright hate speech gets legitimized and normalized when celebrities amplify it, often softening the roughest edges, and when more mainstream sources report on it even to debunk it. Perhaps it’s time to expand the idea of shouting “Fire!” in a crowded theater to include things like questioning without evidence the efficacy of vaccines because such speech has the potential to create public health emergencies.
